GENERAL TERMS

General Terms and Conditions

Location

The boats Ponax (yacht) and Triton (motor boat) are positioned in the port of Porto Lagos (Xanthi), Greece. Upon request by the client, they can also be rented from the port of Fanari.

Route negotiation

The duration and destination of your sailing trip depend entirely on your preference. The route is discussed with our team and agreed upon after receiving a reservation request. The final decision on the route depends on the weather forecast for your chosen time period.

Boat with or without a skipper

The motorboat Triton can be only rented with a skipper from OK Sailing.
The sailing yacht Ponax can be rented without skipper under the following conditions:

• Availability of a qualified captain (skipper) with valid sailing license for sailing boats.
• Availability of a second crew member with valid sailing license for sailing boats (aside from the captain).

The crew requesting to rent the boat without a skipper may be required to demonstrate their sailing skills at the rental port.

Booking

Step 1: To express your intention to rent one of our boats, you must fill out the booking form. We recommend familiarizing yourself with the information provided on our website – the form requires your agreement with the general terms and conditions and the privacy policy.

Step 2: A representative of the company will contact you at the provided phone number to discuss your trip and clarify the details.

Step 3: You will receive an email offer based on your reservation request and the conversation held, including a price calculation. Within 7 days, you should make a 50% advance payment to confirm the reservation.

Step 4: You will receive a boat rental contract via email, which you must sign and return to us. With this, your reservation is completed.

Cancellation Policy

In the case that we are unable to proceed with the trip due to reasons caused by our side, we will offer you another date for the chosen destination and boat, or we will refund 100% of the amount paid by you.

A reservation made and confirmed with an advance payment can be canceled by you under the following conditions:
• Up to 90 days before the start date of the trip – with a refund of 50% of the value of the transfer made;
• Up to 60 days before the start date of the trip – with a refund of 25% of the value of the transfer made;
• Less than 60 days before the start date of the trip – the value of the transfer made is not refunded.
If you cancel the reservation and we have the possibility to find a replacement crew for the same period of time, we will offer you the opportunity to use the deposited amount for another trip or we will refund the full amount.

Payment

The final payment for the service is made by bank transfer until the day before departure (you need to provide a payment document) or on the day of departure at the company’s office in Porto Lagos.

Payments are made by bank transfer to the following bank account:
OK-Sailing O.E., Porto Lagos, Greece
IBAN: GR0402603140000360201724036
BIC / SWIFT: ERBKGRAA
EuroBank S.A. Xanthi, Greece

Payments can also be made at the company’s office in Porto Lagos via POS terminal or in cash.

Deposit

The boats and their equipment are covered by marine insurance, which provides coverage for natural disasters, theft, vandalism, and damage exceeding 2000 euros. The boat renter is relieved of responsibility covered by the insurance policy provided that such loss or damage is not caused or contributed to by an act of negligence or intentional non-compliance from their side.

When renting the boat, a deposit of 2000 euros (not covered by the insurance policy) is required. The deposit is secured by blocking an amount on a credit card.

The deposit will be refunded to the customer after inspection by a representative of OK Sailing of the boat, its equipment, and inventory. In the case of damages that are not covered by the boat’s insurance, they are described, assessed by an external competent person, and the amount is deducted from the deposit.

Medical insurance

OK Sailing recommends to its clients, as part of their preparation for their sailing experience, to obtain medical insurance for extreme sports – for each person in the crew.

Preparation for sailing

Port Authority (Hellenic coast guard) requires the submission of a crew and passenger list and a signed boat rental agreement. To prepare the boat and the necessary documents for sailing, we require you to send us in advance the data of all passengers – names, addresses, ID card details and contact information – phone and email.
The information will be requested by email before sailing. If you do not wish to provide them, the crew list can be completed and certified on-site before departure. However, you will need to wait indefinitely, depending on the workload of the border control service.

Onboard conditions

The boats are fully equipped and furnished for sailing, including kitchen equipment, bedding, towels, and life jackets. Onboard, you will find entertaining games and an OK Sailing library.
Due to the limited space on the boat, we recommend not using a suitcase for packing but instead opting for a soft duffel bag. Also, we advise optimizing the quantity of items accompanying you onboard to a minimum.
